“Dahlia, sweetie, wake up, I have something special in store for you today!” I shake her softly, walking over to open up the curtains. “Five more minutes…” Remmi groans, stuffing her face into her pillow. “Come on! It will be fun! I have lots a fun things planned!” I sigh as she looks up at me with an aggravated look on her face, “Listen. Just because you’re twelve doesn’t mean you can’t do fun stuff with your mother,” “UGH. Fine. I’ll be ready by noon,” I slant my head in confusion, “But it’s eight in the morning…” “Exactly.”
Approximately five hours later, she finally walks out of her bedroom, “I’m ready,” “Finally!” I laugh, going over to give my daughter a hug. “Umm… Can I help you with something?” I rolled my eyes, “Let’s go.” She stopped me, “Where is Saph, dad, and Ryder?” “They aren’t coming, it’s a Dally and mommy day!” “Mom. It’s Remmi. R-E-M-M-I Remmi!” Once again I rolled my eyes, “Let’s go!”
As Remmi’s head turned to the window, she asked, “Where are we going anyways?” “It’s a surprise…” I responded, smiling like a complete moron. She looked at me and sighed, “Mom, no, just no,” I laughed. Thirty minutes pass of complete silence, unless Katy Perry blasting on the radio counts. “When are we going to be there?! It’s been like hours!” I let out a deep breath, “It’s been… Thirty three minutes exact. Calm your impatient self little miss!” She let out an impatient sigh and got her phone out of the front pocket of her purse, “Mom, Aunt Ness is calling,” and she handed me the phone.
“Okay, the tickets are reserved! Lilah and I will be there shortly, we’re still at our hotel. Meet us at the park?” I let out a brief alright, I didn’t want to spoil the surprise for Rem before we got there. We said our goodbyes and hung up, “What did she call for?” Remmi curiously asked, “Oh nothing, just to tell me that.. um… Her… cat… died.” “Mom, you suck at lying,”
Not many minutes after, we arrived at the park, Remmi’s eyes lit up with amazement as she saw all the acrobats, singers, magicians, clowns and more. We waited while Vanessa and Delilah arrived, and of course, my impatient twelve year old child, had to irritate me somehow. Using lines such as, “Mom it’s hot,” , “Mom, I’m thirsty,” , “When will they be here?!” , “Mom, I’m annoyed,”. For my small minded child, I bought her this glow stick that would glow in mid day, and switch colors. From blue, to green, to red, stopped the complaints easy enough. Although, I’m now twenty dollars shorter then I was before. But anything to stop those complaints.
“WE’RE HERE!” Vanessa screams, trying to run over to me, but failing. “NESSA! I love you, but six inch heels to an amusement park?!” “Delilah wanted to wear them, but I wouldn’t let her, so I wore them to rub it in her face.” I shook my head and laughed. “I love you, l-o-l” “I love you too l-m-a-o”
Delilah and Dahlia look over at us, their faces bright red, Delilah being very shy didn’t say anything, just looked down at her feet, trying to forget what her mom and aunt just said. Dahlia on the other hand, being the loud mouth she is spat out, “What. The. Crap. You two… Just… No. I really wish I didn’t know either of you right now,”
Vanessa and I took several minutes to laugh as we admired our daughters embarrassment, rocking the text language as cute boys around their age pass. Once we finally calmed ourselves, we introduced the girls. They haven’t met yet, twelve years have passed, and we haven’t had an opportunity to meet until now. “Dahlia,” Vanessa got interrupted, “Aunt Ness, it’s Remmi, with an I. Or even Rem. But I never want to hear the name Dahlia mentioned ever again. Please,” “…Okay. Remmi, this is Delilah, Delilah this is Remmi!” Delilah smiled and waved, while Rem just let out a simple… yo.
“Can we actually do stuff now?! You know, rather then just standing here, doing absolutely nothing.” Dahlia asked, “I suppose that is okay!” Vanessa smiles, nudging Delilah to say something, “Yeah,” Vanessa sighs, “You always talk so much! but now it’s just single words, let loose girlfriend!” Delilah sighed, “Mom. I am not your girlfriend, I am your daughter, daauuuggghhhtttteeerrr.” “Well then, I see how much I’m loved.” Vanessa joked.
The girls had a blast, I think it’s safe to say that they’re great friends, they had an amazing time joking around, going on rides, and overall, having fun!
And that isn’t even half of all we did!

“How did you enjoy today?” I asked, “It was great, I had a lot of fun! Do you think we could do this again sometime? Maybe?” I smiled at Rem, “Of course, little lady! Anytime!”
She took a short breath, “Mom?” “Yes?” I asked, checking my makeup in the rear view mirror, “I just wanted to say that… That I really enjoyed being with you today, even though I was mostly with Delilah, I just… I really liked spending time with you. I hope we can do this more often…” I pulled the car over to the side of the road, I needed to give her a hug. “I love you, Rem”

“How did today go?” Seth asked, sitting down next to me, “You scared me! Today was a success, I think Dally and I are closer now, not where I want to be, but we’re getting there. Slowly but surely!” Seth smiled, “Good job, Kaliebug,” “Seth, no. I have too much planning to do for tomorrow, Saph and Rem’s birthday is really stressing me out. I’m going to bed, wake me up before you go to work.” His voice became more calm, “Okay, I’ll wake you up, I love you” I kissed him, “I love you too,”
